Inclusion

Inclusion is an important aspect of an Early Learning environment. Our goal is "to ensure that all children are recognized and valued, have equitable access to resources and participation, and opportunities to demonstrate their learning and learn to value differences" (Government of Nova Scotia, 2018, pg. 30). All of our children have different abilities and limitations; it is through these areas that we create an individual program for each child.

We also have an open door policy, which allows for any professional on a child's team to come into the centre to work with the child and educators to ensure they are set up for success in all of their environments. This can include EIBI, NSECDIS, NS Hearing & Speech, Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy, and much more.

If you have any questions regarding our inclusive settings and individual programs, please reach out to our Inclusion Coordinators. Dinithi can be reached at inclusionhcr@edwardjost.ca or 902-479-2835 Ext 6 (Herring Cove Rd) and Alyssa can be reached at inclusion@edwardjost.ca or 902-479-2835 Ext 4 (Mont St).
