As tomorrow, February 10th, is Chinese (Lunar) New Year, the Herring Cove location began celebrating the festival by having a special lunch! Steamed fish represents an increase in prosperity, spring rolls represent wealth, oranges (good fortune fruit) represent luck and longevity noodles represent happiness and longevity.
The Lamb room in particular has shown a lot of interest in learning about the Chinese New Year traditions as they have a few families that celebrate it! The dragon on their door represents 2024 being the year of the dragon, their sensory bin is filled with the 12 zodiac animals, as well as their bin and sensory bottles being filled with all things red, yellow and gold! They have also incorporated the colors into their classroom activities, toys and decorations as much as possible.
