Edward Jost Parent Highlight

We would like to highlight one of our Edward Jost parents as she faced her biggest fear today, in honour of her son.

This afternoon, Kristen rappeled down the tallest building in Halifax (1801 Hollis Street) along with a team of other amazing moms, and other teams supporting Easter Seals, an organization dedicated to aiding people with disabilities.

Kristen’s son was born with Sotos Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects 1 in 14,000 people and is characterized by excessive growth during childhood. He has an awesome team of support workers but will need support throughout the entirety of his life, and organizations such as Easter Seals are what they depend on. By participating in today’s event, she wants to prove to her son, and everyone, that you can overcome any obstacle in life and that treating people as “less than” because they have differences can be very hurtful. Educate children on embracing, protecting, celebrating and advocating for peoples’ differences and disabilities.

We are so proud of you Kristen and thank you for being a voice for children with disabilities!
