Today we are spotlighting Lasso the Wind by George Elliott Clarke.

Lasso the Wind is a children’s book of poems. This collection of poems explains the vivid wonder, the bright joys, and the secret pains of growing up.


The author is renowned poet and playwright George Elliott Clarke. Clarke was born in Three Mile Plains and raised in Halifax , Nova Scotia. He has won many awards for his poetry and literature. He has earned seven honourary doctorate degrees. He has been recognized for his work and advocacy for African-Canadian literature.
